All that you need to know about IBPS RRB PO

IBPS RRB stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Common Recruitment Process for Regional Rural Banks. It is a competitive exam for aspirant office assistants or officers looking for jobs in the regional rural Indian banks. The IBPS RRB 2023 examination dates are yet to be announced, but they are conducted annually. So, you must wait for the actual date of the exams and study hard. What is the exam pattern of the IBPS RRB PO?

The examinations are divided into preliminary, mains and interviews or group discussions. In the IBPS RRB PO preliminary examinations, you will find sections such as quantitative aptitude and reasoning. Each section comprises 40 questions, which must be completed within 45 minutes. Since there are 40 questions in both sections, the total marks are 80. So, it means that each question fetches one mark. If you pass the preliminary exams, you will qualify for the main examination. When it comes to the main examination pattern, the sections consist of English or Hindi language, quantitative aptitude and data interpretation, financial awareness, computer knowledge and reasoning. The questions in each section are 40, totalling 200 questions. The duration is 2 hours, and the marks distribution for financial awareness and Hindi/English language is 40. In the computer knowledge paper, the marks for each question will fetch 0.5, and the total is 20 marks. The marks distribution for the quantitative aptitude and data interpretation and reasoning sections is 50. The questions are objective types and every incorrect answer has a negative marking of 0.25. You must attempt the questions unless you are sure of the solution. You can skip a question if you are unaware.  

What is the job profile of the RRB PO?

The IBPS RRB probationary officer has specific roles and responsibilities like ensuring the smooth functioning of the bank, handling the day-to-day operations and performing different banking activities. You must be well-informed about the credit facilities and ensure that the farmers understand the process of loan disbursement. You will have to closely monitor the creditors and check the documentation provided by loan takers. In addition, it is essential to maintain the bank’s balance sheet annually. You will have to compare it with the balance sheet of the previous years, allowing you to understand the profits gained. Moreover, verifying cash and checking payments and receipts are other duties and responsibilities of an RRB PO.
